WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Head coach Maggie Frezzotti has rounded out her coaching staff for the 2026-27 season with the addition of Western Michigan's Mike Wallace, and former Purdue baseball standout, Harry Shipley.
Wallace comes to West Lafayette with a wealth of softball knowledge, coaching for more than a decade, from youth softball programs to the collegiate level. In his most recent stop, in his home state of Michigan, Wallace helped to lead the Broncos to breaking five offensive program records, with the second-best batting average in program history (.292). Wallace also aided in the development of three players who earned all-conference honors in 2026.
Prior to Western Michigan, Wallace spent more than two decades in California where he was the District Athletic Director in the Central California area and led the Firecrackers, a national level travel ball organization. Wallace has worked with the 2025 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, NFCA All-Americans, three National Team members, a Gatorade State Player of Year, a State Player of the Year and numerous All-State and All-Region athletes.
