ATHENS, Ga. – Purdue Track & Field’s Warner Papillion represented the Boilers on the opening day of the Spec Towns Invitational in the first five events of the decathlon.
Men’s Notes
• Papillion concluded the first half of the decathlon sitting in fourth place with 3,759 points.
• His best event finish was second in the 400m with a personal-best 47.76. He previous best was 48.55.
• The remaining five events on Friday, in order, are the 110mH, discus, pole vault, javelin and 1500m.
Women’s Notes
• Angeline Amefia took part in the first event of the heptathlon but missed the remainder of the competition.
