WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Anna Moore earned her third Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor after continuing her stellar campaign, helping Purdue to a 4-0 week, while sweeping Rutgers.
Moore went 7-for-15 this week with 14 RBI and six runs scored, including three home runs. With now 11 homers on the season, Moore broke Purdue’s Freshman home run record and etched her name in the record book. The freshman is now just four RBI away from breaking Purdue's single-season mark, and four homers away from breaking the single-season overall home run record.
In game one against Rutgers, Moore went 3-for-4 with 6 RBI, three runs scored, and two home runs, including a grand slam, the record-breaking home run. This was Moore's second two-homer game of the season. In game two against the Scarlet Knights, Moore went 3-for-5 with 5 RBI and one run scored.
Ealier in the week, Moore went 1-for-3 against Miami Ohio with a three-run homer, her ninth of the season which helped to lead Purdue to the 8-0 shutout victory.
Moore is the only Big Ten freshman this season to earn the honor three times.
