LOS ANGELES - The Purdue women's tennis squad fell in the final match of the season behind a 0-4 decision at No. 19 UCLA.
The Boilermakers, who played their fourth consecutive ranked opponent, three of which against top-19 programs, were eliminated from postseason play with the result, ending their season at 7-14 (3-10 Big Ten).
Purdue was unable to pickup a set in the dual, although Ashlie Wilson's hard-fought effort during singles included a tiebreak in Set 1, ultimately falling 6-7(1) in the set.
In total, Purdue faced two ranked singles players and saw a ranked matchup in doubles, with the No. 36 nationally-ranked pair overcoming the No. 61 duo of Ida Clement and Ece Gencer with a bagel.
The Boilermakers wrapped up a season which included three seniors: Ashlie Wilson, Fatima Gutierrez and Kayal Gownder.
