WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women’s basketball team officially added another international star to its roster for the 2026-27 season, as Israeli guard Maya Zilbershlag announced her signing for the Boilermakers. Zilbershlag will join Purdue this upcoming offseason.
Zilbershlag is one of the rising talents in Israel and Europe, playing for her nation in five EuroBasket tournaments between the U16, U18 and U20 divisions.
In 2025, the then-17-year-old represented Israel in the U18 and U20 EuroBasket tournaments, guiding her team to a sixth-place in the latter event where she averaged 8.5 points and 3.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 45.5% from behind the arc.
After being tabbed one of the top-10 players to watch ahead of the 2025 U18 EuroBasket, Zilbershlag went off for 18.4 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. She led the tournament in scoring, finished eighth in rebounding and seventh in efficiency. She topped the tournament in free throws made and attempted, while finishing second with an 80% clip at the line.
Zilbershlag was invited to the elite 2025 Basketball Without Borders Europe camp, where she was crowned the BWB 3-Point Champion.
She made her debut in the professional ranks in 2024-25 with her hometown Hapoel Kfar Saba, where she posted 8.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists over 22 games as a 16-year old.
Ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, Zilbershlag joined Maccabi Bnot Ashdod in the Israel Super League. Over 22 games this season, she has averaged 8.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, while shooting 43.5% from distance on 30 3-pointers, to have her club second in the league standings.
