WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue will welcome Wisconsin to West Lafayette this weekend for a three-game series, which has shifted from its originally scheduled dates due to impending weather.
The Boilers and Badgers were originally slated to play Apr. 2 - Apr. 4, but will now play Friday, Apr. 3 through Sunday, Apr. 5. Due to the safety of the student-athletes, the team’s will forgo the linear coverage of Thursday’s game that was set to be on Big Ten Network.
The new game times will be Friday, Apr. 3 at 2:00 p.m. (Updated), Saturday, Apr. 4 at 2:00 p.m. and Sunday Apr. 5 at 1:00 p.m. est.
The Boilers return home to Bittinger Stadium after taking one of the three games in the series at Michigan. In the final five weeks, the Boilers will host Wisconsin and Northwestern as well as midweeks against UIC and IU Indy.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Wisconsin comes into the series 19-11 on the season and 5-4 in conference. The Badgers have won their last two series against Maryland and Penn State, sweeping the Terrapins.
Wisconsin has an impressive offense, hitting .341 as a team with 266 hits, including 28 home runs. Hilary Blomberg leads the Badgers, hitting .423 with a team-leading 11 home runs and 41 hits.
SERIES HISTORY
Purdue and Wisconsin have faced one another 65 times in their histories, with this series marking the 30th anniversary of their first meeting in 1996. The Boilers lead the series 36-29, but the Badgers split with Purdue a year ago in Oklahoma City.
