WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue women’s basketball guard Nya Smith has been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, which recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their excellence on and off the court.
In her first season at Purdue, Smith has an unblemished 4.0 GPA as a kinesiology major.
Smith finished fourth on the team in scoring in 2025-26, averaging 8.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. In Big Ten play, the sophomore picked up her output to 10.9 points per night, while shooting 39% from the floor. She was third on the team in league play with 42 assists.
The Roswell, Ga., native posted nine games in double figures with a pair of 20-point outings. She closed the regular season with 16.8 points per night on a 44.4% shooting clip over her last five contests.
Smith is the first Purdue women's basketball student-athlete to earn CSC Academic All-District since Hayden Hamby in 2016.
