WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - After making Purdue history becoming the first-ever Purdue freshman to win Big Ten Freshman of the Week in back-to-back weeks, Anna Moore was named D1 Softball's National Freshman of the Week on Tuesday.
Moore claimed Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday, earning it for the second time in as many weeks.
The Indianapolis native started and played in all five games for the Boilers while batting .533 with eight hits, 10 RBI, seven runs scored, and two homers.
Moore slugged .933 with a .650 on-base percentage, while also earning a 1.000 fielding percentage with seven put outs and five assists.
Moore was crucial in the series sweep of Ohio State, racking up seven hits, five runs scored, eight RBI, and a home run.
The Boilers extended their win streak to 14, after claiming five victories this week, marking the program’s longest-ever win streak, a 23 year old record that was broken on Saturday en route to the Boilers sweeping Ohio State.
Purdue continues to make its mark nationally, receiving votes in both the D1 Softball Top 25 poll as well as the NFCA/GoRout poll released Tuesday.
