WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Anna Moore makes Purdue history becoming the first-ever freshman to win Big Ten Freshman of the Week in back-to-back weeks.
Moore had another outstanding performance this week after winning her-first career Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor last Monday.
While starting and playing in all five games for the Boilers she batted .533 with eight hits, 10 RBI, seven runs scored, and two homers.
Moore slugged .933 with a .650 on-base percentage, while also earning a 1.000 fielding percentage with seven put outs and five assists.
Moore was crucial in the series sweep of Ohio State, racking up seven hits, five runs scored, eight RBI, and a home run which pushed Purdue out to a 12-4 lead over the Buckeyes in game three.
The Boilers extended their win streak to 14, after claiming five victories this week, marking the program’s longest-ever win streak, a 23 year old record that was broken on Saturday en route to the Boilers sweeping Ohio State.
The three-game series victory against the Buckeyes, was the first for Purdue since 2014.
