Purdue Falls Short 3-4 at Washington

SEATTLE - The Purdue men's tennis team dropped a close battle at Washington, 3-4, on Friday night. Despite the loss, three Boilermakers picked up singles wins: Maj Premzl, Juan David Velasquez and Jacob Lee.

Premzl's win over Brett Pearson at the No. 4 position took a pair of tiebreakers to decide the match at 7-6(6) and 7-6(2). No stranger to extra points, the sophomore has gone to tiebreakers in five of the last eight sets played and won four of those five tiebreak sets.

Meanwhile, Velasquez picked up the win at the No. 5 position, 6-2, 6-4. With the win, the junior picked up his sixth victory of the year, including his second in the last three Big Ten matches.

Lee wrapped up the dual, ending the Boilermakers showing in Seattle with a 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 victory. It marked his third win in the last four matches as he improves to 5-2 this season.

Up next, Purdue will head to No. 58 Oregon. The Boilermakers and Ducks will face each other Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.
