BOILERMAKER LOOK BACK (2/24)

  • Sophomore Maj Premzl picked up the sole win at No.5 singles versus Tomas Zlatohlavek of Wisconsin in the Big Ten opener with a pair of 7-6 victories. His overall record for 2025-2026 improves to 10-7, and his impressive spring record to 4-1. 
  • Although the match ended at Wisconsin ended in a loss for sophomore then #55 Nour Fathalla, the battle was evident as he took the first set of the match 6-4 versus #75, Michael Minasyan.
  • Doubles pair from Purdue, freshman Nikola Jovic and junior Juan David Velasquez fought hard, opposing Matthew Fullerton and Patrik Meszaros of Wisconsin, but the match remained unfinished, 4-4. 
  • The Boilermakers are now 3-5 for the spring season.

LOOKING AHEAD

  • Purdue (3-5) returns home for their last non-conference dual versus Illinois State on Thursday, February 26, at 4 pm E.T. 
  • Illinois State comes into the dual with a similar record to Purdue, 3-4, with an away record of 2-3. 
  • Velasquez leads the Boilers with five wins this spring, while three Boilermakers own four: Fathalla, Premzl, and Henrik Villanger.
  • Premzl is on a roll, winning the last three consecutive singles matches.
