WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Cross Country’s Douglas Buckeridge and Nathan Walker earned individual USTFCCCA Cross Country All-Academic honors, in addition to both programs earning all-academic, the organization announced Thursday.
Individual honorees on the all-academic team must have finished top 40 at the NCAA Championships or top 25 in their respective regional competition and carry a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Teams honored must carry a GPA of at least 3.0.
Purdue's men’s program carried a 3.53 GPA and the women’s program carried a 3.39.
Buckeridge, a senior, earned his third consecutive USTFCCCA Great Lakes All-Region honor this season after he took 20th at regionals. He finished seventh at the Big Ten Cross Country Championships and became Purdue’s seventh First Team All-Big Ten honoree.
Walker, a graduate student, put together his first USTFCCCA Great Lakes All-Region campaign after finishing 21st at regionals. He also earned All-Big Ten Second Team for the second time in his career after he finished 18th at the championships.
After the cross country season concluded, Buckeridge began his indoor season while Walker awaits the final outdoor season of his collegiate career after already using his indoor eligibility.
