THE SCENE SETTER
• Purdue kicks off another two-game roadswing, looking to snap a two-game skid when it travels to Indiana on Tuesday night. The Boilermakers have lost back-to-back games for the first time this season, both losses coming by fewer than six points after Purdue held leads late in the contest. The Boilermakers and Hoosiers are meeting for the first of two meetings this year, with Indiana visiting Mackey on Feb. 20.
• Purdue will wrap up another roadswing on Sunday when it travels to Maryland for a CBS afternoon matinee.

THE MATCHUP
• Purdue and Indiana will meet for the 222nd time in series history, with Purdue holding a 128-93 series advantage.
• The series is the most-frequently played rivalry among original Big Ten members, but is now behind Washington vs. Oregon (318) and UCLA vs. USC (265) among all Big Ten rivalries.
• The Boilermakers have won three of the last four meetings and 16 of the last 21 contests dating to the 2013-14 season.
• However, Indiana has won three of the last four meetings in Bloomington, defeating a ranked Boilermaker squad in each of the three contests.
• Purdue will be facing Indiana as a ranked team for the 10th straight meeting. Purdue is just 8-17 as a ranked team against Indiana in Simon-Skjodt Assembly Hall.
• The game will feature 10 (7 from Purdue; 3 from Indiana) players that reside from the state of Indiana.
Fletcher Loyer is averaging 14.2 points per game in six games against Indiana, having made six straight 3-pointers in Bloomington, spanning two games.

NEWS AND NOTES
• Purdue is looking to right the ship after two straight losses to UCLA (69-67) and Illinois (88-82). The Boilermakers held leads of six and five at the final media timeout of both of the losses, but couldn't close the deal late.
• Despite two straight losses, Purdue still owns the third-most quad-1 wins in the country with six (Duke, Arizona - 8). Purdue's 15 wins in the first three quads are the second most nationally behind Michigan (16). Purdue's two quad-4 games played are tied for the fewest in the country (Michigan, Boise State, Alabama).
• Against Indiana, Purdue will be playing its fifth straight quad-1 game. The Boilermakers currently have seven quad-1 games left with 11 games to play.
• Purdue is in the midst of a gauntlet of playing six games in an eight-game stretch away from Mackey Arena (road games vs. USC, UCLA, Indiana, Maryland, Nebraska, Iowa). Purdue will play just two home games from Jan. 15 to Feb. 16 (Illinois, Oregon).
• Purdue ranks in the top 25 nationally in assist / turnover ratio (1st), offensive efficiency (2nd), assists per game (3rd), field goal percentage (8th), turnovers per game (10th) and 3-point percentage (22nd).
• Purdue has been ranked in 71 straight AP Top 25 polls, the second-longest streak in the country behind Houston (118). Duke is third at 56 straight weeks.
• Purdue's strength of schedule is ranked No. 9 nationally, via KenPom. It currently marks the third straight year, and sixth time in the last eight years, that Purdue has played a top-12 schedule nationally.
Matt Painter is currently one of four coaches nationally to average 25 wins per season over the last 10 seasons (since 2016-17). He is joined by Mark Few, Kelvin Sampson and Bill Self on the list.
Braden Smith needs seven assists to move into the top 10 on the NCAA career assists list. UNLV's Greg Anthony is 10th with 950 assists. Smith has 943 career assists.
Braden Smith also needs 34 points to become the 12th player in school history with 1,000 career points in Big Ten Conference play.
