DUAL MEET INFORMATION
Purdue Men’s Swimmers at Wisconsin

Soderholm Family Aquatic Center / Madison, Wisconsin
Meet also features Wisconsin Women hosting Illinois
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Men’s Swimming gets an early look at the site of the Big Ten Championships as the Boilermakers visit Wisconsin for Saturday’s final dual meet of the fall semester.
With the Wisconsin women hosting Illinois simultaneously, action is set for 1 p.m. ET on Saturday at the Soderholm Family Aquatic Center. The facility opened in 2020 and hosted the women’s Big Ten Championships in 2022. However, the men’s championships have not been held in Madison since 1974.
The Purdue men’s last visit to Wisconsin for an NCAA meet was in January 2021 as the Badgers hosted the Boilermakers and Gophers for a triple dual. That was among Purdue’s three dual meets arranged by the Big Ten Conference during the 2020-21 school year and season impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. The Boilermakers did send a group of swimmers to Madison this past summer for a USA Swimming Futures Championships meet.
With the majority of both teams’ divers traveling to Midland, Texas, for next week’s USA Diving Winter Nationals, only swimming events will be scored Saturday. The traditional default order of events at a dual meet will be utilized with the exception of the relays – the 400 medley and 200 freestyle relays will be featured Saturday.
Nathaniel Thomas and Alex Hotta also traveled to Texas this week to race at USA Swimming’s Toyota U.S. Open hosted by the University of Texas at the Jamail Texas Swimming Center. Thomas raced Thursday in the 50-meter freestyle and is working to rejoin the team in Madison so he can compete Saturday. Hotta’s event at the U.S. Open is the 100-meter free Saturday morning and thus he won’t compete against the Badgers.
The Purdue men are 3-0 in dual meets this season, with victories against Missouri, Cincinnati and Oakland. The Badgers are ranked 20th in the CSCAA Top 25 coaches poll. They’re led by first-year head coach Jack Brown, who was hired in May after stints as an assistant coach at North Carolina and Missouri.
