WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – As the USA Diving Winter Nationals return to the state of Texas for the first time since 2013, 10 Boilermakers are set to compete and represent Purdue in all but one of the 10 scheduled events at the annual end-of-the-year showcase.
With action set for Dec. 10-16 at the COM Aquatics Center in Midland, Texas, individual events will be spotlighted and the first medals awarded during the weekend of Dec. 12-14. Qualifiers for the individual events are set for Dec. 10-11 and synchronized events close out the championships on Dec. 15-16.
In the individual events, the top 12 in the prelims advance to the finals. Scores are cumulative and carry over from prelims to finals.
Women’s 3-meter synchro is the only event of the 10 in which Purdue is not slated to have at least one entry.

USA Diving Winter Nationals was last held in the state of Texas when the University of Texas hosted in December 2013. COM Aquatics and the city of Midland also hosted USA Diving’s U.S. Open Championship in August 2022. Sophie McAfee (silver on 10-meter) and Brandon Loschiavo & Jordan Rzepka (silver in 10-meter synchro together) all medaled at the 2022 U.S. Open Championship.
Among the Boilermakers competing in Midland this week, Rzepka, McAfee, Zach Welsh, Tyler Wills and Avery Worobel have all medaled at Winter Nationals in previous years. Rzepka has medaled at four consecutive Winter Nationals dating back to 2021, headlined by winning gold on 10-meter at the 2022 December showcase.
This year, Winter Nationals will help determine USA Diving’s qualifiers for the World Aquatics Diving World Cup 2026, which features events in Montreal (Feb. 26-March 1), Guadalajara (March 5-8) and Beijing (May 1-3 Super Final).
Divers that have competed for Purdue at some point have combined to win 79 medals – 32 individual, 47 synchro – at the Winter Nationals since 2010, claiming at least one medal every year the meet has been held. That total of 79 includes medals won by divers before they officially enrolled at Purdue. The Boilermakers opted not to compete in synchronized events at Winter Nationals last year.
