Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center / West Lafayette, Ind.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.
– Purdue Women’s Swimming & Diving hosts Iowa on Friday for the first of five Big Ten duals on the schedule this season, a matchup up that doubles as the final home meet of the fall semester at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center.

Action begins at 4 p.m. ET and admission is free. The teams are planning to use the default event lineup with the exception of the 400 individual medley taking the place of the 200 IM late in the meet. The Purdue women raced in the 400 IM for the first time last weekend at the two-day triple dual against Oakland Cincinnati, with Kate Mouser winning the event.

The 400 IM was one of 13 individual events in which a Boilermaker posted a team season-best at the Halloween Weekend triple dual, which Purdue swept to improve to 3-0 in duals this season. The Purdue women have won nine consecutive dual meets during the fall semester dating back to a season-opening win at Notre Dame in October 2023. They’re 16-5 in duals overall since the start of the 2023-24 campaign.

Five Boilermakers posted lifetime bests last weekend in Rochester, Mich. Lara Phipps, Caitlin Hurley and Keira Kask did so while winning events, moving up Purdue’s all-time leaderboards in the process. Newcomers Amie Perna and Susie Lee enjoyed season bests in the backstroke events. And while their times were not lifetime bests, they did add their names to the program’s all-time leaderboards. Perna now ranks sixth in the 100 back (53.99) and 15th in the 200 back (1:59.16). Lee is now 13th in the 100 back (54.63).

Keira Kask – 2:01.26 in 200 IM (15th)
Annabelle Swiney – 4:25.08 in 400 IM
Kate Stanley – 2:17.99 in 200 Breast

Along with the Big Ten Championships, Purdue competed against Iowa at the annual two-day Big Ten Triple Duals/Quad during the 2022-23 (Northwestern hosted) and 2023-24 seasons (Purdue hosted). The Boilermakers’ last head-to-head dual vs. Iowa was in November 2017 at the Burke Aquatic, capping a three-year stretch in which they competed against each other every season prior to Big Tens.

Purdue also competes against conference rivals Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Northwestern at Big Ten dual meets over the first month of the spring semester. The Boilermakers will go up against Indiana, Ohio State and Penn State (among others) at the Ohio State Invitational later this month (Nov. 18-21) in Columbus.
