WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Cross Country is set for its third meet of the season on Friday, Oct. 3 at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invite. The Boilermakers are one of 18 teams and one of three Big Ten programs blue section of the meet.
Men’s Notes
• Douglas Buckeridge took fourth in the 8k (23:52.9) in his first meet of the season at the Spartan Invitational. His time is 11th in the Big Ten and 18th in the Great Lakes Region.
• Nathan Walker was the next finisher for the Boilermakers in 15th (24:13.5) at the Spartan Invitational. He currently sits 25th in the Big Ten.
• Kiefer Bell (24:26.6) and Jason Polydoris (24:35.0) are 31st and 36th in the Big Ten, respectively, after their season also opened at the Spartan Invitational.
Women’s Notes
• Sofia Munoz led Purdue in the 6k (21:57.4) at the Spartan Invitational when she finished 61st overall. She set a personal best by 22 seconds and has a personal best in each of her first two meets this season.
• Lauren Pegher made her season debut at the Spartan Invitational and finished 75th (22:18.6).
• Julia Economou was Purdue’s third finisher at the Spartan Invitational in 79th (22:20.7). She has finished in Purdue’s top three in both meets this season.
