WEST LAFAYETE, Ind. – Junior middle blocker Dior Charles set a program record for hitting % in a five-set match in No. 17 Purdue’s effort to topple Bowling Green, 3-2 (25-21, 22-25, 25-16, 26-28, 15-9).

Purdue (3-1) picked up its first win of the season at home, while handing Bowling Green its third loss (2-3).

Tomorrow, the rights to the title of Stacey Clark Classic Champions is on the line as No. 17 Purdue (1-1 record in the tournament) takes on No. 15 Kansas (2-0 in the tournament) at 7 p.m. ET on B1G+. No. 23 Georgia Tech and Bowling Green will face earlier in the afternoon at 1 p.m.

Notes

  • Dior Charles set a Purdue record for hitting % in a five-set match and produced the fourth-overall highest clip by a Boilermaker with her errorless .846 attack (11-0-13). Charles also led the way defensively at the net, on six of Purdue’s nine blocks.
  • For 10 members of the team, it was their first-ever win as a Boilermaker.
  • Taylor Anderson tied a career-high 60 assists in the win, adding seven digs, four blocks, two aces and two kills.
  • Kenna Wollard led the team in kills for all four matches of the season, ending the night with a double-double: 19 kills on a .318 clip alongside a career-high and team-leading 15 digs. It was her first career double-double.
  • The middles' production generated 25 kills for Purdue with just one error combined, as Charles’ performance was complimented by Lindsey Miller’s .533 clip (9-1-15).
  • Purdue improves to 2-0 in five set matches this season.
  • A balanced offensive attack saw four Boilermakers reach double-digit kills.
  • Redshirt sophomore Grace Heaney hit .314% in the match, the third consecutive time she's hit at least .300. Meanwhile, she was just one kill shy of tying her season-high after totaling 15 kills in the win vs. Bowling Green.
  • Purdue picked up its first Set 1 victory after coming back in the first set to tie the match up at 20-all.
  • Libero Ryan McAleer finished the night with 14 digs.
  • Nataly Moravec paced the Boilers in Set 1 behind seven kills and a .357 hitting clip and ended the night with 14.
  • As a team, Purdue hit .347 in the match. Overall this season, the Boilermakers have hit .347 or better in 50% of their matches.
  • The Boilermakers had match point in the fourth set, leading 24-23 and 25-24 before the Falcons came back to take the set, 26-28.
