Purdue Cross Country is set for the Big Ten Preview on Friday, Sept. 12, hosted by Michigan State, with the men’s 8k at 9 a.m. and women’s 6k at 9:40 a.m.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Cross Country is set for the Big Ten Preview on Friday, Sept. 12, hosted by Michigan State, with the men’s 8k at 9 a.m. and women’s 6k at 9:40 a.m.

Men’s Notes
Douglas Buckeridge will make his season debut after finishing 43rd at nationals and as the runner-up at the Great Lakes Regional last season. Buckeridge is coming off back-to-back All-Region campaigns.
Nathan Walker prepares for his season debut after a 27th-place finish at last season’s Great Lakes Regional. Kiefer Bell and Jason Polydoris also gear up for their first meet of the season after 38th and 39th-place finishes, respectively, at least year’s regional.
Nate Assa earned the first Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor of the season on Sept. 3. His 18:30.5 in the 6k is the 29th-fastest time by a freshman in the country this season. 

Women’s Notes
Lauren Pegher, Purdue’s Big Ten Female Cross Country Athlete to Watch, prepares for her first meet of the season.
Elise Peckinpaugh was Purdue’s top finisher at the season opener with a personal-best 17:36.9 in the 5k.
Julia Economou was Purdue’s second finisher in the 5k (17:46.1). Her time was a personal best by over a minute.
Sofia Munoz (18:10.3) and Ally Wigand (18:18.6) also set personal bests in the 5k at the opener.
• Freshmen Elizabeth Butler and Katherine Valentine are set to make their collegiate debuts on Friday.
