AZUSA, Calif. – A late night for Purdue Outdoor Track & Field at the Bryan Clay Invitational featured school record performances by Douglas Buckeridge (10,000m) and Caleb Williams (3000m steeplechase).
Men's Notes
• Douglas Buckeridge ran 28:51.46 in the 10,000m to break Matt McClintock's record of 28:54.77 set exactly 10 years ago on April 16, 2015. Buckeridge now owns top five outdoor rankings in the 1500m, 5000m and 10,000m.
• Caleb Williams broke the 3000m steeplechase record in 8:40.44 after the previous record was set by Brody Smith (8:43.77) in 2021. The race is a personal best by 6.17 seconds and placed Williams third in the 3000m Steeplechase Open on Wednesday night.
• Jason Polydoris joined the Purdue 10,000m rankings at No. 4 after he ran 29:14.60 to cap day one of the Bryan Clay Invitational.
• Nathanial Getachew entered the program's 3000m steeplechase top 10 at No. 8 in 8:55.28. Kiefer Bell also ran a personal best in the event (8:49.66) to improve his No. 6 program standing.
Women's Notes
• Payne Turney ran 33:57.75 in the 10,000m to enter the Purdue rankings at No. 3. It was the first 10,000m of Turney's career. She is now top five in the program's 1500m, 5000m and 10,000m rankings that includes the school record in the 5000m.
• Caroline Jordan ran a personal best 34:55.39 in the 10,000m to improve her already No. 7 ranking in school history.
