WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Indoor Track & Field qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in three men's and two women's events. The championship will take place March 14-15 in Virginia Beach, Va.
Cameron Miller (200m), Praise Aniamaka (triple jump) and the men's 4x400m relay team of Connor Czajkowski, Miller, Brett Otterbacher and Antoine Spencer qualified for nationals. Zoe Sullivan (60m hurdles) and Jalen Elrod (pentathlon) qualified on the women's side.
Miller is the highest ranked Boilermaker to qualify for nationals this season at No. 4 in the 200m (20.27). He shattered his previous school record (20.40) in the Big Ten Championships prelims. He followed it up with a 20.31 in the finals to earn his first Big Ten Indoor Championships title. He is a two-time USTFCCCA Indoor First Team All-America selection.
Aniamaka qualified for NCAAs as the No. 7 triple jumper in the country (16.29m / 53-05.50) and took his first indoor title in the event. He is a reigning USTFCCCA Indoor Second Team All-America honoree and is now a four-time Big Ten Indoor Championships medalist.
The men's 4x400m relay qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships after running a school-record 3:04.95 to earn the Big Ten title. The team qualified at No. 10 in the country and is one of two Big Ten teams in the event. Czajkowski, Otterbacher and Spencer will all participate in their first NCAA Indoor Championships. Both Czajkowski and Otterbacher were 2024 USTFCCCA Outdoor Honorable Mention All-America. Purdue will also carry Zach Mylenek and Jahn Riley as alternates.
Elrod qualified for nationals in the pentathlon after she finished 10th in the country. Her 4,222 points earned silver at Big Tens and set a new school record. She broke her own record (4,218 points) that was previously set on Feb. 7. Elrod is set for her first NCAA Championship appearance.
Sullivan holds a spot in the NCAA Indoor Championships as the 13th-ranked 60m hurdler. She qualified for nationals with an 8.08 that she ran on Jan. 11 in Louisville, Ky. Sullivan earned points for the Boilermakers at Indoor Big Tens for the second consecutive season after she finished sixth. She will participate in her first NCAA Championship.
After the NCAA Indoor Championships, Purdue will look ahead to its 2025 outdoor season. The schedule release date is still to be determined.
