WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – As Indiana University hosts the USA Diving Winter Nationals in the annual end-of-the-year showcase's return to a Big Ten campus for the first time since 2021, the 11 active Boilermakers competing this year have opted to focus on the individual events.

Purdue is slated to have multiple entries in men's and women's 1-meter, 3-meter and 10-meter. Preliminaries and finals are on the same day for each gender in all three events, which are set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Action opened Sunday, Dec. 8 with the first of three days of qualifiers. Synchronized are on the schedule for Wednesday and Thursday.

The top 12 in the prelims advance to the finals. Scores are cumulative and carry over from prelims to finals.

Among the Boilermakers competing in Bloomington, Jordan Rzepka, Daryn Wright, Sophie McAfee, Zach Welsh and Tyler Wills have all medaled at Winter Nationals in previous years. Wright and Wills both qualified for the 2024 World Aquatics Championships in Doha, Qatar with their performances at Winter Nationals last season. Wright has medaled individually on 10-meter at Winter Nationals each of the last three years, winning a medal of all three colors in the process.

This year, Winter Nationals will help determine USA Diving's qualifiers for the World Aquatics Diving World Cup 2025, which features events in Windsor, Canada (April 10-13) and Beijing, China (May 2-4). The 2025 World Aquatics Championships are July 11-Aug. 3 in Singapore.

Divers that have competed for Purdue at some point have combined to win 75 medals – 28 individual, 47 synchro – at the Winter Nationals since 2010, claiming at least one medal every year the meet has been held. That total of 75 includes medals won by divers before they officially enrolled at Purdue. Wright won her gold on 10-meter in Bloomington as a high school senior in 2021. Rzepka was the men's champion on the tower the following year as a sophomore at Purdue.
