WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue men's swimming & diving makes a day trip to the Derby City for a dual meet that was a late addition to its schedule, visiting No. 11 Louisville for the final dual of the fall semester.

Action at the Ralph Wright Natatorium is slated for 3 p.m. ET. It will be a traditional 16-event dual, but the order of the events has been adjusted slightly, most notably with the 500 freestyle moving up between the 50 and 100 free. The teams are also planning to race in the 400 individually medley vs. the 200.

Purdue and Louisville agreed to add the meet in mid-September after both teams were unable to compete against Notre Dame as originally scheduled. The Fighting Irish announced a season-long suspension for their men's swimmers in August. The Louisville women's team and men's divers are still competing against ND on Friday in South Bend as originally scheduled. Purdue is hosting the Irish on Friday, Jan. 10 as part of a co-ed triple dual with Kentucky.

Purdue won its dual meet opener Oct. 25 at Missouri in thrilling fashion, rallying for a two-point victory in the final team score (151-149).

With the Boilermaker women also competing at Rutgers on Friday, it will mark the first time since the final Saturday of January in 2022 that the Purdue men and women have had full team representation at separate meets on the same day.

Louisville has been a regular attendee at the three-day Purdue Invitational over the last 15 years, with the U of L men winning the midseason showcase in 2009, 2012 and 2019. And the city of Louisville has been a fairly regular destination for the Boilermakers in June for the annual Ohio Valley Championships, held outdoors at the Lakeside Swim Club. But Purdue has not made any trips to the Ralph Wright Natatorium. However, Louisville did host the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships this past March, so the Boilermaker Divers do have experience at the facility. Jordan Rzepka, Holden Higbie and Max Miller all qualified for the NCAA Championships at Louisville's home pool.
