WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Another doubleheader on Monday Night Football put a bow on Week 7 of the NFL schedule.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Another doubleheader on Monday Night Football put a bow on Week 7 of the NFL schedule. Seven former Boilermakers saw in-game action around the league.

On the first play of the Bengals-Browns game, former Purdue standout and 2021 Big Ten Return Specialist of the Year Charlie Jones returned the opening kickoff 100 yards to the house. He became just the second Cincinnati player in franchise history to tally both a kick return and punt return touchdown in a career.

Coming off a bye week, George Karlaftis led the Kansas City Chiefs with their only sack of the afternoon in San Francisco. He brought down 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy to force a third-and-long in the second quarter.

Additionally, Karlaftis tipped a pass at the line of scrimmage, leading to an interception for the Kansas City defense. The disruptor from West Lafayette finished with three tackles and two quarterback hits in all.

Aidan O'Connell made his second start of the season and completed 6 of 10 passes for 52 yards before exiting with an injury. The diagnosis of a thumb fracture unfortunately pushed him to the Injured Reserve, joining a long list of former Boilermakers who have been sidelined with an injury this season.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. again led the Giants with six carries and 23 yards, also posting three receptions for nine yards against Philadelphia. Earning his third consecutive start, he has etched himself into the primary running back role for New York.

Raheem Mostert returned from the bye and rushed 11 times for 50 yards, good for a 4.5-yard average at Indianapolis.

Markus Bailey was elevated from the Cardinals' practice squad and made his first appearance of the season, logging 16 special teams snaps in a Monday Night Football win against the Chargers. Sanoussi Kane also played 21 special teams snaps in the Ravens' Monday night win in Tampa Bay.

Overall, former Boilermakers went 4-3 in Week 7. The combined season record for Purdue players is 31-20.
