WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue women's tennis senior Carmen Gallardo Guevara punched her ticket to the NCAA Singles Tournament on Monday morning by winning her semifinal match at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue women's tennis senior Carmen Gallardo Guevara punched her ticket to the NCAA Singles Tournament on Monday morning by winning her semifinal match at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional.

Gallardo Guevara made quick work of Daniela Rivera from East Tennessee State 7-5, 6-4 to set up a championship match against No. 34 Bridget Stammel from Vanderbilt on Tuesday.

The NCAA Singles and Doubles Tournaments are being held in the fall as a part of a pilot program. The finalists of each of the 13 ITA Regional events, as well as the doubles champions from those tournaments will earn automatic bids to the national tournament.

The NCAA Singles Championship will be held in Waco, Texas, Nov. 19-24.

Gallardo Guevara is the sixth Boilermaker to earna  bid to the NCAA Singles Championship and the first since Silvia Ambrosio in 2019.
