WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's tennis team continued its run at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional at Middle Tennessee State with a singles player and doubles team advancing on Saturday.
Carmen Gallardo Guevara cruised in singles to defeat Alice Otis in the Round of 32 singles 6-3, 6-3 to set up a Round of 16 matchup with Annika Planinsek from Ball State on Sunday.
Gallardo Guevara teamed up with Tara Katarina Milic to reach the quarterfinals on the doubles side. The pair moved to the Round of 16 after a walkover in the Round of 32, before knocking off Berta Miret and Lika Persypkina from Louisville 8-6.
They will face the No. 79 team in the nation of Leyla Britez Risso and Vanesa Suarez from Tennessee on Sunday morning.
