FALL BALL EXHIBITION INFORMATION
Toledo at Purdue
Saturday, Oct 12 at 1 p.m. ET
Alexander Field / West Lafayette, Indiana
Teams to play 14 innings regardless of score
Free Admission and BYO Concessions
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Baseball is set for another 14-inning day of fall ball action as Toledo makes its first appearance at Alexander Field for Saturday's exhibition game.
First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. ET and the teams are planning to play 14 innings regardless of score, which will not be kept via the videoboard at the stadium. Admission is free for all fall ball events at Alexander Field. The concession stands will not be open Sunday so fans are invited to bring their own food and drink.
Purdue Athletics is planning to offer a live stats feed via StatBroadcast in conjunction with a free live video feed on the Purdue Baseball Facebook page. However, both offerings will not be archived for on-demand views after the 14 innings are complete.
The Boilermakers have not played Toledo since March 1998 (in Fresno, Calif.) and all three previous meetings between the programs have been neutral-site matchups. However, the Rockets do feature two familiar faces. Longtime UT assistant coach Nick McIntyre was a four-year starter at second base for the Boilermakers from 2000 to 2003, playing in over 200 games. He was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 2003 MLB Draft after racking up 242 hits, 49 doubles and 144 RBI over his four years at Purdue. Logan Danzeisen is a redshirt senior for Toledo, transferring home to his native Northwest Ohio after three years at Purdue (2021-23). He made three starts on the mound during the 2022 campaign.
Thirty-one Boilermakers, including 12 pitchers, saw action over the 15 innings in the Sept. 15 fall exhibition game vs. Louisville at Alexander Field. CJ Richmond's three-run double highlighted a three-hit day for the lefthanded slugger. Lukas Cook and Albert Choi connected for home runs for Purdue. On the mound, newcomers Gavin Beuter, Nick Kolze and Chris Gallagher all worked two innings of one-hit scoreless relief.
The Boilermakers close out their fall ball open scrimmages next week with the annual Black & Gold Series.
