MILWAUKEE – Juana Larranaga will play for the Milwaukee Tennis Classic singles championship on Sunday, after picking up two wins on Saturday.
The senior cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win over Anaelle Leclerq-Ficher from Ole Miss in the quarterfinals. IN the semifinals, Larranaga bested Maeve Thornton from Tennessee 7-6 (3), 6-3 to set up a championship clash on Sunday against Vanesa Suarez from Tennessee.
Ece Gencer advanced from the quarterfinals when her opponent Ludmila Kareisova from Ole Miss withdrew from the competition, but her run was halted in a 6-4, 6-3 loss to Vanesa Suarez from Tennessee in the semifinals.
