IRVINE, Calif. – For 12 Boilermakers – four men and eight women – the summer long course season culminates with a weeklong trip to Southern California for the annual outdoor showcase, USA Swimming's Speedo Summer Championships.

Events are set for Tuesday to Saturday, with prelims daily at noon ET and finals at 8 p.m. ET. Competing for Boilermaker Aquatics, Purdue has multiple individual entries on all five days and should also be active in relays during the finals sessions.

Masy Folcik and Brady Samuels are representing the Boilermakers at summer nationals to close out the month of July for the third year in a row. Maxwell Blume, Dylan Burau, Kelsey Cooper and Hannah Hill are also headed back to race at Irvine's William Woollett Jr. Aquatic Center. They're joined this year by Keira Kask, Kate Mouser and Meghan Sharma as well as incoming freshmen Walker Mattice, Lara Phipps and Adele Sands.

Highlighted by individual event victories from Hill (100m back), Kask (200m IM) and Phipps (100m free), eight Boilermakers racing this week won medals at Indiana Swimming's SwimFest/Long Course State Championships the weekend of July 11-14 in Indianapolis. Burau, Kask, Mattice and Phipps all won at least three medals.

The Boilermakers are slated to compete in 13 individual events over the five days. Purdue has qualifiers in three individual events on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Burau, Folcik and Samuels all qualified for B finals at USA Swimming's 2023 TYR Pro Championships in Irvine. Samuels also won the C final of the 100 fly.
