COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Volleyball announced its 14-player roster to compete at the NORCECA Women's Final Six Pan American Cup, which features Purdue outside hitter Eva Hudson.
The Final Six team, composed entirely of current collegians will represent the United States while the Women's Senior National Team prepares for the Paris Olympic Games. "We are treating NORCECA Final 6 as the first tournament of the new Olympic cycle that eventually leads to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles," U.S. Women's Head Coach Karch Kiraly said.
Hudson and the U.S. will face its first match in the Dominican Republic on Thursday, June 26 versus Mexico. Then they will play Canada on Friday, June 26. The semifinals are set for Saturday, June 29 followed by the medal matches on Sunday, June 30.
An AVCA Second Team All-American and First Team All-Big Ten honoree, Hudson is the youngest Boilermaker to earn first second or third team All-America recognition since 1986. Last season, Hudson led the Big Ten in kills (560) and second in the Big Ten in total points (605.5). Additionally, she ranked second in the Big Ten with 605.5 total points. The sophomore set career-highs in kills (30 vs. #3 Wisconsin), a career-high .556 hitting % in the NCAA First Round vs. Fairfield and 27 kills in the NCAA Second Round vs. No. 6 seed Marquette. Playing her best volleyball at the end of the season, Hudson totaled 213 kills over the final 11 matches of the season, with a 2.65 clip despite 563 attacks. She is the fastest Boilermaker to reach 1,000 career kills in the rally scoring era and concludes her sophomore campaign with the most kills over her first two years of any Boilermaker to come through the program (1,075).
No stranger to competing for the U.S., Hudson was a member of the gold-medal-winning U21 national team in 2023.
