PULA, Croatia – In its second match of its European Tour, the Purdue volleyball squad took on the OK Pula club team, sweeping them in a five-set match, 5-0.
The Boilermakers' efficient showing included a .463 team attack %, led by Eva Hudson's 18 kills and .577 attack %, Chloe Chicoine's 17 kills, one error performance (.552). Meanwhile, the trio of Raven Colvin, Grace Heaney and Taylor Anderson all went errorless on the attack, combining for nine kills on 13 attacks.
In addition to the entire roster earning playing time, the match was split between setters Anderson and freshman Allie Shondell. Anderson ended the day with 24 assists and Shondell with 17.
Purdue's serve included 19 aces, an effort led by freshman Ryan McAleer's four.
Defensively, middle blocker Lizzie Carr produced a third of the team's blocks, accounting for five of the Boilermakers' 15. Hudson followed closely with four. Meanwhile, Chicoine led the back row with nine digs, followed by Ali Hornung's seven and McAleer's six. Hornung and McAleer each played at least one set in the libero position.
Tomorrow, Purdue will head to Zagreb, Croatia where they will take on Mladost before heading to Istanbul, Türkiye to wrap up the two-week trip abroad.
