ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Eighth-seeded Purdue women's tennis falls in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals to first-seeded Michigan 4-0.
Michigan took the doubles point after claiming victories at No. 1 and No. 3. At No. 2, Csilla Fodor/Kennedy Gibbs were battling Reese Miller/Piper Charney when the point was clinched for the Wolverines. The match was abandoned at 4-3.
Five out of six Boilermakers were playing against ranked singles opponents. Against No. 3 Kari Miller, Carmen Gallardo Guevara was putting up a fight, ultimately having to leave the second set abandoned at 4-4. Juana Larranaga and Csilla Fodor were also in the middle of their singles battles when the match was called for Michigan.
