The Purdue women's tennis team will travel to Ann Arbor, Mich. for the Big Ten Tournament. The first match will be against the ninth-seeded Minnesota Golden Gophers on Thursday, April 25 at noon.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's tennis team will travel to Ann Arbor, Mich. for the Big Ten Tournament. The first match will be against the ninth-seeded Minnesota Golden Gophers on Thursday, April 25 at 12 p.m.
 
The Boilermakers are entering the Big Ten Tournament as an eighth seed after earning a 12-9 overall record, going 5-6 against conference opponents. Purdue claimed a 4-1 Big Ten victory in the most recent match against the Indiana Hoosiers. According to ITA, the Boilermakers are ranked No. 66 nationally.
 
Minnesota has gone 11-12 this season, obtaining a conference record of 4-7. In their last match, the Golden Gophers fell to Rutgers 4-3. In last year's Big Ten Tournament, Minnesota finished fourteenth after having to forfeit five of its remaining matches.
 
The Thursday match will be the first time that Purdue and Minnesota have faced each other in the Big Ten Tournament since 2008. In that match, Minnesota defeated Purdue 4-2. In the 2023-24 campaign, the Boilermakers battled the Golden Gophers at home, falling 4-1 to Minnesota. At No. 1, Carmen Gallardo Guevara bested Minnesota's Mia Liepert in two straight sets.

• The winner of Thursday's match will battle #1 Michigan on Friday at 10 a.m.
• At No. 2, Csilla Fodor/Kennedy Gibbs have gone 5-1 against Big Ten opponents
• At No. 3 singles, sophomore Kennedy Gibbs is undefeated with a 9-0 record.
• Playing at both the one and the two singles spot, Carmen Gallardo Guevara has earned a 14-3 record.
