No. 65 Purdue women's tennis claimed the doubles point over Michigan, but ultimately fell to the No. 2 Wolverines 4-1 Sunday.

Ann Arbor, Mich. – No. 65 Purdue women's tennis claimed the doubles point over Michigan, but ultimately fell to the No. 2 Wolverines 4-1 Sunday.
 
In doubles play, Carmen Gallardo Guevara/Tara Katarina Milic defeated Michigan's Jaedan Brown/Gala Mesochoritou 6-3. Against the sibling duo of Kari Miller and Reese Miller, Csilla Fodor/Kennedy Gibbs claimed a 7-6(5) victory, giving the Boilermakers the 1-0 lead entering singles play.
 
Five of Michigan's six ranked singles players took the court today. At No. 3, Csilla Fodor was leading the match against No. 102 Jaedan Brown. After winning the first set 6-4, Fodor was stopped in the second after the match was clinched for Michigan. At No. 1, Carmen Gallardo Guevara was also still in battle against No. 3 Kari Miller when the victory was secured by Michigan. The Wolverines remain undefeated in conference play.
 
Up Next
Purdue will host its final home match on Sunday, April 7 at noon. The Boilermakers are set to battle the Nebraska Cornhuskers in their eighth conference match this season.
