WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's tennis team will begin Big Ten Conference play on the road against Rutgers University Scarlet Knights this Friday, Mar. 1 at noon.
 
In the most recent match, Carmen Gallardo Guevara and Tara Katarina Milic both claimed wins over Memphis in singles. Gallardo Guevara still remains undefeated in singles play this campaign, going 8-0 so far. The Boilermakers are currently ranked at No. 56 in ITA and hold a record of 6-3 this season. In the 2022-2023 campaign, Purdue went 6-5 against conference opponents.
 
Rutgers has a record of 7-2 this spring campaign, ranking at No. 68 as a team. At No. 1, senior Tara Chilton has gone 4-2. In last season's conference play, the Scarlet Knights went 1-10 with an 11-13 overall record. The 2022-2023 team went to the second round in the Big Ten Tournament, defeating Michigan State but falling to Northwestern.
