WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue volleyball head coach Dave Shondell announced the 2024 spring schedule, which features one home match and three neutral site matches played throughout the state of Indiana in March and April. The Boilermakers open the season at home Friday, March 22 vs. Butler.
Half of Purdue's matches will be played against a team that competed in the NCAA Regional Finals just three months ago. Meanwhile, another two opponents are Big Ten members that Purdue is slated to play in the fall.
Purdue's opponents include Butler (home), Wisconsin, Louisville and Indiana. Matches will be played on Friday evenings with the exception of Wisconsin, which will take place on Sunday, April 7. Purdue will be playing at the high schools of Hamilton Southeastern, Lake Central and Center Grove.
No ticket will be required for Purdue's home match vs. Butler.
While fans will not need to buy tickets for the Purdue vs. Wisconsin match, tickets will need to be claimed in advance in order to attend. Tickets will open on March 4 at 1 p.m. ET via a link on Lake Central Volleyball's X/Twitter page, @LCvolleyball1. Last year's match sold out within minutes.
Purdue returns nearly its entire 2023 roster after a thrilling season that culminated in a No. 13 national ranking in the final American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll, an NCAA Regional Semifinals appearance and a third-place finish in the Big Ten. Led by Dave Shondell, who recently received a contract extension, the Boilermakers finished with a 23-9 overall record, including 15-5 in Big Ten play. All three AVCA All-Americans return for the 2024 season with Eva Hudson (Second Team), Chloe Chicoine (Third Team) and Raven Colvin (Honorable Mention) in addition to All-Freshman Team selection in setter Taylor Anderson. Meanwhile, two members of the 2024 freshmen class have enrolled early are will compete this spring: defensive specialist #3 Ryan McAleer and setter #11 Allie Shondell.
