WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue Wrestling dropped it's penultimate dual of the season 36-6 to No. 11 Minnesota on Sunday afternoon. The Boilermakers got their two wins from No. 1 Matt Ramos and No. 32 Stoney Buell, who both knocked off ranked opponents in their matches.
The unanimous No. 1 at 125 Ramos added another notch in his win column with a 4-1 decision over former teammate No. 12 Patrick McKee. The redshirt-junior blasted in on a double in the second period, overcoming an initial attempt at defense from McKee by rolling over the Gopher and earning the deciding takedown. He is now 5-0 in his career against Minnesota wrestlers.
The victory gives Ramos 12 in a row dating back to the Cliff Keen Invite in early December, tying a career-long streak to start last season. Across the 12 wins, he is outscoring opponents 94-30 and has only given up two total takedowns. Five of the wins came against ranked opponents, including victories over No. 1 and No. 2.
In the last match of the afternoon, the redshirt-sophomore Buell picked up his fourth ranked win of the season in a 10-9 decision over #27 Blaine Brenner. The Dundee, Mich., native came out firing from the jump and executed a five-point move in the first 30 seconds to give himself a lead he would not relinquish. It is his fourth Big Ten dual win on the year.

The Boilermakers will host their final dual of the season next Friday night against Illinois at 7:00 p.m. ET in Holloway Gymnasium. The team will honor six seniors in Senior Night festivities: Mitch Hutmacher, Trey Kruse, Michael Leveille, Christian Navida, Cooper Noehre, and Macartney Parkinson.
