WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Three Boilermakers swept the weekend as Purdue beat Brown 4-3 on Sunday.
Stefan Simeunovic and Soham Purohit capped an unbeaten weekend with straight-set wins at No. 1 and 3. The freshmen combined for four singles victories and no sets lost. Purohit's first career win at No. 3 improved his spring record to 3-2. Simeunovic can now claim a winning record at the top singles position at 2-1 and has six wins in his first nine matches as a Boilermaker.
With the match knotted at two-all, Mujtaba Ali-Khan brought the victory into view with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 6. Ali-Khan earned his third win of the spring and his first since Western Michigan.
Henrik Villanger locked up the win after coming back from a set down. After dropping a tiebreak in the first, Villager swept the second set 6-0 and put the nail in the coffin with a 6-4 win in the final set.
