RIO GRANDE, P.R. – Grand Reserve Golf Club continued to prove to be a tough test for those competing in the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic. Despite six Top 25 teams in the field, only a pair of programs finished the second round under par. Through 36 holes, No. 22 Purdue is in the middle of the pack after a 294 (+6) on Monday.

Three Boilermakers carded 73s (+1) to lead Purdue in the second round. Opening round leader Momo Sugiyama remained in the hunt for medalist honors with her 73, tied for third and only two shots back of Kansas State's Carla Bernat. She held sole possession of the lead at one point during the day before a double bogey on No. 13, one of the toughest holes on the course. She got one stroke back with a birdie at the 14th.

For the second straight day, Jocelyn Bruch shot 73 on the par 72 layout. Her round featured a team-best 15 pars, and she found a lone birdie at the par-4 17th hole to move into a tie for 29th heading into the final round.

Natasha Kiel improved upon her opening round with a 73 of her own. Starting on the fifth hole, she parred her first five holes before getting into red figures with a birdie at the 10th. The New Hope, Pennsylvania, native added two more birdies on the back nine, playing her first 16 holes 1-under par before a pair of bogeys to end the day.

Ashley Kozlowski recorded a team-high four birdies, battling through an up-and-down round that saw the Boilermaker sign for a 75 (+3). The senior birdied a pair of holes on both sides of the course to go along with four pars on each nine.

No. 11 LSU (-4) maintained its one-shot lead over No. 12 Texas A&M (-3) as the top three teams, including Oklahoma State (-1), recorded a 289 (+1) in the second round. While the Boilermakers (+9) are 13 strokes behind the leaders, they still remain within striking distance and have 18 holes left to climb the leaderboard.

The final round of the tournament begins Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m. ET. Purdue will be paired with Furman (+7) and Kansas State (+10), putting Sugiyama (-4) in the same group as the leader Bernat (-6).
