WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Football solidified its schedule for the 2024 season with a trio of non-conference matchups before the start of Big Ten play. The schedule was finalized with the Boilermakers hosting Indiana State (Aug. 31) to begin the second season under head coach Ryan Walters.

The matchup with the Sycamores was originally slated for Sept. 7 before being moved up to avoid a bye week to start the season. The two programs meet for just the seventh time in history, first in 1926 and most recently two years ago.

Following the season opener, Purdue has its first of two bye weeks during the 2024 campaign before hosting in-state foe Notre Dame (Sept. 14). The Shillelagh Trophy is up for grabs for the first time since 2021, the 88th battle on the gridiron between the Boilermakers and the Fighting Irish. Closing out the non-conference portion of the schedule, Purdue hits the road for the first time by traveling to Oregon State (Sept. 21).

Previously announced in November, Purdue's Big Ten schedule features four games at Ross-Ade Stadium to go along with five matchups away from home. The Boilermakers open up Big Ten play at home against Nebraska (Sept. 28), with the contest serving as the Boilermakers' annual Homecoming game. It will mark the 12th straight season the two teams have squared off on the gridiron.

The month of October begins with back-to-back road games at Wisconsin (Oct. 5) and Illinois (Oct. 12), the only trip to Madison over the next five seasons. After battling the Illini for the Cannon Trophy, Purdue returns home to host new Big Ten-member Oregon (Oct. 19). The Ducks make the trip to West Lafayette for just the third time in history (1979, 2008).

The Boilermakers end October with their second and final bye week (Oct. 26), using the break to prepare for Northwestern to kick off November (Nov. 2). Following the contest against the Wildcats, Purdue concludes their regular season with three of its final four games away from home. The stretch starts with the Old Gold and Black traveling to Ohio State (Nov. 9). One week later (Nov. 16), the Boilermakers welcome Penn State to Ross-Ade Stadium for the final home game of the 2024 campaign.

Closing out the slate, Purdue hits the road to face Michigan State (Nov. 23) before heading to Indiana for the annual Old Oaken Bucket Game (Nov. 30).
