First home football game for the 2023 season

The Purdue Cheerleading Team helped start some new traditions in the freshly-renovated Ross-Ade Stadium!  To kick-off the 2023 football season, the Spirit Squad led the charge as the team took the field for the first time! In addition to this new element, the team cheered on the Boilermaker Special as it made its way through the concourse and parked in it's new game day location at "The Station" located above the Tiller Tunnel. The Purdue Cheerleading team also moved their on-field location for the 2023 season. The All Girl and Co-ed team are now located in the north end zone and the southeast corner of the field. Fans from all vantage points will be able to see both teams of the spirit squad, as the All Girl and Co-ed teams switch locations at halftime. The map below details where the teams are now located.   "My overall experience from the first football game felt unreal. Being able to see and cheer on the football team from a different perspective (on the sidelines) along with hearing the band play in the new stadium was truly a moment I will remember forever." - Colleen McMaster, All Girl Freshman "If you know me, you know I love game days and you really can't beat a game day in Ross-Ade! Especially with the new renovations this year, the new bowl effect made it even better. Looking up and seeing the fans in every direction and feeling the energy that everyone is feeding off of is something I could never take for granted! Even being a third year, I still get chills every time the team runs out of the tunnel!" - Maggie Theriot, All Girl Junior   "Taking in the amount of people that filled Ross-Ade was unlike any prior cheer experience. I learned there is no feeling like a Boilermaker game day and my favorite moments were running in the end zone with my stunt partner for touchdown celebrations!" - Menza Velotta, Co-ed Freshman    "My favorite part of the day was seeing the team take the field from the brand new tunnel as well as seeing the new student section filled to its capacity. Even with being a senior, I still get chills being on the field as I'm just surrounded with excitement and anticipation from the crowd. I love the new layout of the stadium and new game day experience because it still feels like home when I'm there." - Becca Douglass, Co-ed Senior
