WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue soccer team earned a 6-0 win over Valparaiso on Saturday, April 22, to finish its spring exhibition season.
On a chilly afternoon at Folk Field, the Boilermakers found the opening goal 11 minutes into the match and never looked back. It was 3-0 after 45 minutes, and a goal five minutes into the second half added to the lead. Purdue netted two more in the final 20 minutes while holding Valpo goalless.
The Boilermakers finish the spring exhibition season with a 3-0-1 record with two clean sheets. The Old Gold and Black outscored their opponents 18-4 in the four games, which were played from February-April.
With final exams beginning in one week, the team will now formally break for the rest of the semester. The Boilermakers will return to campus at the beginning of August for preseason training and the start of the 2023 season. The 2023 schedule will be announced once it is finalized, and will be available at PurdueSports.com/Soccer.
