RALEIGH, N.C. – The  Purdue track & field team was represented by two runners on the second day of the Raleigh Relays on Friday afternoon in Raleigh, North Carolina, at Paul Derr Track.

RALEIGH, N.C. – The  Purdue track & field team was represented by two runners on the second day of the Raleigh Relays on Friday afternoon in Raleigh, North Carolina, at Paul Derr Track.
 
Junior Payne Turney and sophomore Emma Squires raced in the 1,500-meter event on Friday for the Boilermakers. The pair also will run in the 800m to close out the weekend on Saturday.
 
Turney placed 106th in 4:34.44, and Squires was 11th in 4:35.01. Both were making their outdoor season debuts as nearly 200 runners ran in the 1,500m race.
 
On Thursday, Purdue opened the three-day Raleigh Relays with one runners in the 3,000m steeplechase and four in the 5,000m.
 
Squires and Turney return to the track tomorrow in the women's 800m at 1:45 p.m. ET. Hosted by North Carolina State, the Raleigh Relay field includes Big Ten foes Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Ohio State racing in the Boilermakers' events.
