BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Purdue softball team (2-2) fell 1-3 at Campbell (3-2) in a Thursday afternoon matchup. The Boilermakers' lone run came in the top of the third by Khloe Banks with the bases loaded. Becca Edwards notched the RBI on a sac fly.

With the run, Banks, a freshman outfielder, secured her third of the season and has now scored in 50% of Purdue's games played.

Purdue was out-hit, 3-7 in the outing, however the Boilermakers were unable to convert its eight runners left stranded.

Alex Echazarreta (0-2) was credited with the loss after 1.2 innings pitched with two hits, two runs and three walks allowed. Meanwhile, Madi Elish entered in relief, tossing three strikeouts over the final 4.1 innings. The sophomore conceded five hits and walked just one Camel.

Purdue will remain in North Carolina for the remainder of the weekend for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, which the team will face two games vs. Syracuse and two games at NC State. Due to impending weather on Friday, Purdue's first game vs. Syracuse, originally scheduled for a 12:30 p.m. ET first pitch, has been pushed back to 3 p.m. ET.
