PURDUE IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Two Boilermakers appear in the week two national TFRI top-25 rankings, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Fifth-year Johnny Vanos is No. 8 in the weight throw, with the second-best mark in school history, while freshman Bryanna Craig is No. 25 in the pentathlon thanks to a mark that is fifth in the Purdue record books.

In the #EventSquad rankings, the men are No. 18 in the weight throw, while the men and women are both No. 20 nationally in the 60-meter. The women also are No. 21 in the pole vault and No. 22 in the 200m.

CRAIG EARNS B1G HONOR
Craig was named the Big Ten Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday after her performance in the pentathlon on January 27. It is her first award of any kind in her Boilermaker career and the first women's indoor field honor for Purdue since 2017. The third Boilermaker to earn Big Ten weekly accolades in 2022-23, Craig joins Vanos and junior K'Ja Talley, who were recognized on December 14 after the season-opening meet.

At the Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville last weekend, Craig finished with 3,968 points in the pentathlon, which ranks fifth in team history and is No. 1 in the Big Ten this season. It's the best pentathlon mark by a Boilermaker since 2020 and the second-best since 1997. Craig was competing in her fourth collegiate meet and her first in the pentathlon, and she finished third overall in the event.

LAST TIME OUT: VANOS MOVES UP AS FIVE TOP-10 TIMES SET IN LOUISVILLE
Last weekend, five top-10 marks in program history were achieved as Purdue competed at its first two-day meet of the season from January 27-28.

At the Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville, Vanos moved up to No. 2 in the record books in the weight throw, as he continued his dominant start to the season with another win, while Craig entered the top-10 list at No. 5 in the pentathlon. Freshman Zachary Evans ran a pair of top-10 times in the 60-meter, with the eighth-fastest time in the prelims before topping it in the final with a mark that is tied for No. 6. On the second day, fifth-year Camille Christopher improved on her 200m mark that is No. 6 all-time.
