WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Hall of Fame inductee Stephanie White added another prestigious honor to her resume Saturday night as one of the newest members of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.

White was announced as a member of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2022 back in December. Fellow teammate on Purdue's 1999 NCAA National Championship team Katie Douglas was honored as a member of the Silver Anniversary Team.

She is the 15th Boilermaker from the women's basketball program inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.

White is one of 10 Indiana Miss Basketball honorees to play at Purdue, including head coach Katie Gearlds (2003) and guard Jayla Smith (2021), winning the prestigious honor in 1995.

A standout at Seeger High School, White scored a then-record 2,869 points and currently ranks fourth in state history. She tallied 886 points as a senior in 1994-95 which ranks sixth in single-season history.

For her efforts, White was named Gatorade National Player of the Year, USA Today National Player of the Year, WBCA All-America, MVP of the WBCA All-American Game and a three-time Associate Press Indiana All-State selection.

Donning the old gold and black, White averaged 17.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game over a four-year career in West Lafayette. She still ranks in the top five of more than 20 statistical categories in Purdue's record book, including the third most points in a career with 2,182.

White was an integral part in leading the Boilermakers to a 34-1 record and the 1999 NCAA National Championship, still the only team from the Big Ten to win a national title. The Boilermakers won two Big Ten Tournament championships and two regular season titles during White's tenure.

In her senior season alone in 1998-99, White was named an All-American by the Associate Press and the WBCA, a member of the NCAA Final Four Team, NCAA All-Regional Team, Honda Award Winner, All-Big Ten Tournament Team and its Most Outstanding Player, the Big Ten Female Athlete of the Year, Big Ten Player of the Year, All-Big Ten, a finalist for the NCAA Woman of the Year, CoSIDA and GTE Academic All-American and Academic All-Big Ten.

After a six-year WNBA career, the first draft pick in program history to the Charlotte Sting in 1999, White moved into the coaching ranks in the WNBA winning the franchise's only league championship as an assistant in 2012. She was the head coach at Vanderbilt for five seasons before transitioning back to work for the Big Ten Network and ESPN calling men's and women's games.

Douglas was a four-year letterwinner in basketball from 1998 to 2001 as a guard/forward and was a starter for three seasons for head coaches Carolyn Peck and Kristy Curry. Douglas is second all-time with 327 career steals, ranks third with 526 assists and is fourth with 1,965 points.

She is the only two-time first team All-American for Purdue. As a junior and senior, she was named first team Kodak All-American, Big Ten Player of the Year and Purdue Female Athlete of the Year. She was a second team Academic All-America selection her junior year, first team Academic All-American as a senior and a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.

Douglas was a member of the 1999 national championship team and was named to the NCAA Women's Final Four All-Tournament Team in 1999 and 2001.

She was selected to the USA Basketball Team in 1998 and participated in the 1999 World University Games. Douglas has continued her success in the WNBA with the Orlando Miracle, Connecticut Sun and Indiana Fever. A five-time WNBA All-Star, she was named Most Valuable Player of the 2006 All-Star Game and helped guide the Fever to the WNBA Championship in 2012.
