A LOOK BACK AT THE 2021 NCAA GREAT LAKES REGIONAL
A year ago, then-junior Emma Tate and then-senior Curt Eckstein qualified for the NCAA Championships after top-25 performances at the 2021 NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Evansville, Indiana, on November 12. Eckstein was 14th overall with a career-best 10k time of 30:07.1 and Tate was 25th and ran the 6k course in 20.29.8. The duo earned All-Region accolades, Tate for the first time in her career and Eckstein for the fourth time.

As a team, both the men and women finished ninth. The men earned 221 points as the top five finishers placed in the top 55. The women collected 226 points as four runners placed in the top 51.

LAST TIME OUT: BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Purdue men were fifth and the women finished 11th at the 2022 Big Ten Championships on October 28 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Sophomore Nathan Walker was 19th overall to pace the men individually on the 8k course, and sophomore Emma Squires led the women in the 6k race.

The Boilermaker men finished in the top five for the fifth time in the last six years, a feat the team hadn't accomplished since 1950. The program earned five total top-five finishes from 1951-2016 (1969, 1982, 1983, 1985 and 1986), while, prior to 1951, Purdue placed in the top five in 14 of 15 Big Ten Championships contested from 1931-1950.
