WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A pair of fall exhibition games vs. regional Division I opponents headline Purdue baseball's fall ball slate, which also features a host of open scrimmages at Alexander Field.
The Boilermakers' 45-day fall practice calendar begins Thursday, Sept. 8 and features 18 home events that are open to the public (with free admission).
Purdue has exhibition games against Louisville and Dayton this fall. The Boilermakers will make their first visit to the Louisville's Jim Patterson Stadium since April 2017 on Sunday, Sept. 25. The date and 1 p.m. first pitch were determined on Sept. 12 after a noon kickoff for the Cardinals' Sept. 24 home football game was formally announced.
Dayton returns to Alexander Field for a 1 p.m. game Saturday, Oct. 8. The Flyers made their Alexander debut as part of a warm and sunny midweek date on March 15 of this past season.
The annual three-game Black & Gold Series is set for Oct. 20 to 22 and marks the end of fall practice. All three games will be played regardless of the results. They are expected to be afternoon matinees. Purdue is planning its annual Family Day meal for the players' families on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Alexander.
The coaching staff has designated at least 14 practice dates as scrimmage days, which are also open to the public. Scrimmages begin Monday, Sept. 12 and are traditionally afternoon sessions. Times and scrimmage updates will be shared on social media on the day of and posted here as they become available. Dates and times are subject to change based on weather.
The Boilermakers have an open scrimmage planned for Friday, Oct. 14 to kick off Purdue's Family Day Weekend on campus, but parking restrictions due to the sold-out football game Saturday dictate the Alexander lot must be clear by 5 p.m.
