WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – As Purdue baseball gets set to host first-place Maryland for the final weekend of the regular season, the Big Ten Conference has announced the final two games of the Thursday-Friday-Saturday series have been selected for live television coverage on the Big Ten Network.
Friday's game has been moved up an hour to 5 p.m. ET and Saturday's game is back to 1 p.m.
MARYLAND SERIES SCHEDULE
• Thursday, May 19 at 6 p.m. ET on B1G+
• Friday, May 20 at 5 p.m. ET on BTN
• Saturday, May 21 at 1 p.m. ET on BTN
The Boilermakers' Senior Day ceremony and Alumni Day festivities remain on the schedule for Saturday before the regular-season finale. The annual alumni batting practice session and tailgate are set for Saturday morning. The Senior Day ceremony will begin at approximately 12:30 p.m. Purdue is expected to have 11 seniors recognized Saturday.
FULL PROMOTIONAL SCHEDULE
• Thursday: $3 deals on tickets, food, beer; trading cards set #6 giveaway
• Friday: Scout Night – scout troops can purchase $1 tickets
• Saturday: Alumni Day & Senior Day; trading cards set #7 giveaway
This weekend is also the final opportunity for fans to exchange their tickets from any postponed/canceled games that haven't already been traded in. Purdue had home games postponed/canceled on March 11, March 12, March 19, March 22, March 26, March 27, April 8, April 12, April 20 and April 30. Many of those dates were made up as part of weekend doubleheaders.
The Boilermakers remain in eighth place in the Big Ten standings, maintaining their hold on the final bid to the eight-team Big Ten Tournament with their rubber game win Sunday at Northwestern. A series win vs. Maryland would clinch a tournament berth and one victory would also be enough if Northwestern and Nebraska are unable to sweep their series.
No. 14 Maryland moved into a tie with Rutgers atop the Big Ten standings Sunday. The Terrapins and Scarlet Knights both play on the road this weekend, with Rutgers visiting Michigan. The BTN will be televising all three games of the Rutgers-Michigan series, moving Thursday and Friday to 8 p.m. and Saturday to 5 p.m. Thursday's Illinois-Penn State game at 5 p.m. is also being televised this weekend.
The BTN is set to televise multiple games at Alexander Field during the final weekend of the regular season for the third time in the last five years dating back to 2018.
