Boilers Continue Conference Play with Illinois and Ohio State

The Purdue women's tennis team will be splitting conference matches this weekend away at No. 50 Illinois on Friday and will host No. 7 Ohio State on Sunday.  

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. The Purdue women's tennis team will be splitting conference matches this weekend away at No. 50 Illinois on Friday and will host No. 7 Ohio State on Sunday.
 
All matches at the Schwartz Tennis Center are open to the public. Masks are optional in all on-campus buildings in accordance with Protect Purdue policies. Live stats and streaming will be available for both matches.

BOILER NOTES
• The Boilermakers are 31-34 in matchups with the Fighting Illini with their last meeting on April 29, 2021. 
• Purdue is 23-32 with the Buckeyes with their last matchup in Columbus, Ohio, on Feb. 12, 2021.
• Ohio State is ranked No. 7 and Illinois is No. 50 after the April 6 ITA rankings.
Seira Shimizu bested Sayda Hernandez over the weekend to post Purdue's lone singles point against Indiana. 
• Purdue overtook Indiana in the doubles wins at No. 1 and 2. Nathalia Wolf Gasparin and Csilla Fodor overtook their opponents and Tara Katarina Milic and Rut Galindo bested their matchup.
• Ohio State will take on Northwestern on Friday before traveling to the Boilermakers on Sunday.
• Purdue will seek to raise their conference record this weekend with split matches away and at home.
